Hi,
I have downloaded Calibre 0.7.50 and then run the installation and it give me this message
"This installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid installer package."
I have Windows 7 Home installed on my notebook at home.
Please advise.
Thanking you in advance
Regards
Nat
Sounds as if you have a corrupted download. I would try clearing the browsers cache and then trying the download again. Alternatively you could try the alternative download location.
Hi Itimpi,
Still not luck. Is there another way to get the installation file.

Did you try
the alternate download location? If you have a download manager, especially one that downloads in multiple chunks at once, try disabling it. If you can, try another browser. You could try disabling your antivirus package while you download and install Calibre (don't worry, it's virus free).

Only if you get it from the Official Calibre or Listed alternate site.
Getting any software that has been through 3rd party hands should be treated with care (It left home clean, but might have gotten dirtied somewhere along the way. Color me paranoid )

Well, yeah. I was assuming that he did.

I have read a few messages in these fori that led me to believe that there are copies of Calibre that are being distributed from 'non-traditional' channels and not the Calibre or Major Linux (all most always out of date ) repositories.
As I said... Paranoid. (30 years of PC use and only 3 infections, 1 came from the dealer that way (never by a demo unit ).)
Thanks guys managed to get the download from a friend.

Great news,
But I really recommend that you find out what is mangling your downloads
Your anti-virus
is set to
ask when it finds a problem (IMHO Silent fixes are bad. You
need to know that there was a (?) problem with files you are getting)?
