... Anyone knows where to find battery replacements for the Jetbook Color 2 ?
This
might be the right one...
https://www.batterydepot.com/pr-0015?utm_source=google_shopping#product-info-specificationsOr on Amazon...
https://www.amazon.com/Portable-Ultralast-PRB-3-Lithium-Polymer/dp/B076P86NKTIt looks like the one this site says fits the JetBook Color (which may or may not be the same size as the JetBook Color 2).
https://e-ink-reader.ru/battery_info_en.php?dev_id=110Not positive the PRB-3 and the CS-AEJ001SL are the same battery, but they look a lot alike.
And this is the result Google returned when I did a search for "Jetbook Color 2 replacment battery" — so it looks hopeful.

only $500.

Don't worry on my account. I was just surprised that a 2012 e-Reader was still selling for $500 new.

Yes, please don't. Software is utterly crap. I was just half-joking.
However it's disappointing how gray Kaleido is even after one decade of improvements. I am not even sure it's any whiter than Triton. I'm not going to be expecting Kaleido 3 to be any better, at this rate...
There's also something curious. Apparently Kaleido panel has 300DPI for blacks while Triton had only 200DPI. However both claim 100DPI for color. I guess the subpixel arrangement has changed somehow.
In my opinion the "screendoor" effect makes black text very fuzzy anyway.

I actually didn't think the software was too bad. It was slow and clunky but once you're reading a document as long as the pages turn reasonably quickly the speed doesn't matter so much. It was the screen that was awful for me - really dull, dark grey background with muddy colours. You needed to blast it with a spotlight and then it looked pretty good but not terribly practical for reading.
Now they have a built in spotlight.

It will be so interesting if one could compare a Kaleido 2 device with the Jetbook Color 2 side by side. In the image on the article the screen was very very gray, the color are almost indistinguisable - but see below the image of the Nova 3 color just announced today, or the PocketBook:
https://imgur.com/a/nWKIWIDI think seeing past devices the sceptical approach about color e-ink is understandable, but color is way better than the first time, and it can be useful now, not simply a gimmick. Even if they color filter is clearly visible and it's still inferior to a regular screen experience.
And I'm pleasantly surprised by the fast iteration of Kaleido. Kaleido 1 in 2020, now Kaleido 2 and 2.5 (only Sony devices, right?) and there's talk about Kaleido 3 already? Awesome. I also think my next e-reader will probably a color one.
How much the color filter disturb the b/w experience?
Images and video of those screens seems fine.
I would like to figure it out
- if those screens can be used without using the lateral light, or keeping it at very minimum.
- if i would end up using it just with coloured material because my nova is better for b/w.
maybe i would try first with a smartphone, if they can make one with google play
