Edgar Jepson, a prolific writer in a variety of genres, founded something of a literary dynasty; his son Selwyn was also a prolific author, and his grand-daughter Fay Weldon has also been very successful.

This book is sometimes described as fantasy, sometimes as a horror-thriller; in a quiet suburban street, someone is attempting to conjure the ancient Greek gods, notably Pan.

Atmospheric, with the wild ancient contrasted with modern suburban normality.
