Why British author John Victor Turner (1900-1945) chose the name of the celebrated Scottish philosopher as his nom de plume is hard to say.

As an author he produced a number of novels and novellas, several of them featuring Sanderson of the Yard. All three are full of vigorous action.

This book collects three of them from the Australian weekly newspaper The Weekly Times (Melbourne). They were all published previously in "The Thriller" magazine.

1: Secret of the Strong Room
2: Call in the Yard
3: The Murder Trap

The three together make about 70,000 words.
