Thanks. I went for it, but I have to admit to being cynical enough to figure (since the "We reserve the right to cancel this promotion at any time" disclaimer was awfully prominent) that this will last a month or two at most until they figure they have the majority of e-mail addresses they're going to get. Hope they prove me wrong!

Cool. I was already on their email list, so I downloaded it this morning. We need to keep this thread active somewhere as reminder's to everyone when the free week come around and what the title is.

Yes, for quite a while. I discovered several authors who are now favorite must-buys.

They also give away an annual short story collection, Some of the Best from Tor.com.

I discovered Kage Baker that way. Great books. Unfortunately she passed away shortly thereafter

Eos (Harper Collins) did something similar a while back. I discovered Adam-Troy Castro when they gave away Emissaries From the Dead. Hopefully Tor follows suit with quality titles for a while.
