Douglas Newton and W Douglas Newton were working names of Irish author Wilfrid Bernard Michael Newton (1884-1951), who wrote a wide variety of fiction, short stories and novels, including the occult, the supernatural, thrillers and sf. His short fiction appeared in British and other magazines and newspapers from around 1907. His novels were often serialised. He also used the pseudonyms Bernard Birmingham, W N Douglas, John Halstead, John How and Ian Irons.
