I just received a Boyue Ares Note and when using it with the light it can be seen a faint band on the edges. Is this normal? Thanks

A completely even illumination is impossible and the brighter the setting, the more clearly you can see it.
Since I don't know how bright it is, I can't comment on it
At the highest level but it can also be seen clearly when poor light in the environment

Is that because of the photo or is the light really dim when set to the brightest setting?

It was set to the brightest setting but Moon+ Reader changed it. That's why is dimmer. I am attaching a new one

That looks much better. The shades at the edges are barely visible.
