The Little Room: “Macabre rather than scary. This coming-of-age story recreates the disorientation of discovering that something you remember distinctly could not have happened at all and that, somehow, when you weren’t paying attention, reality changed.” (—Goodreads review)

Other stories in the collection are likewise uncanny and unsettling, although there are also humorous moments to be found.

Madeline Yale Wynne (September 25, 1847 - January 4, 1918) was an American artist, teacher, writer, poet, and philanthropist. She is mostly known for her small oeuvre of supernatural stories, and for her involvement in the arts and crafts movement in the early nineteenth century.

This collection was first published in 1906. This book is in the public domain worldwide, because the author died more than 100 years ago, and it was published prior to 1925.
