Inspector Denvers of Sydney CIB has come under fire for his abject failure to capture the mysterious and outrageous thief known as "Cain", who has persecuted a select group of immensely wealthy Sydney families for some time.

He is hauled before the Commissioner, and dismissed...

But he's not the only one hunting the mysterious "Cain".

(This book was first published in 1934 as a serial under the title "Cain", as by John Morriss, one of de Brune's pseudonyms. It was re-published in 1938 under the title The Framing of Inspector Denvers, as by Aidan de Brune. As this ebook was built using the 1938 serial's text the latter title is retained.)
