So, I have installed Golden Dict - it was located on SD-Card and the folder too.
I got 2 dictionaries (EN-DE, DE-EN BGL) ang put it in this folder.
Then moved Golden Dict to internal storege and everything worked - the dictionaries remained on SD Card.
OK, clear. So then, the alternate location for dictionaries is not even needed.
You can have dictionaries in subfolders for your own clarity, if you have lots of them. But first of all, add morphology dictionaries of DE and EN. Otherwise you will frequently have to remove endings of words to find them in the dictionary.
And congratulations - now you will see how the word being entered is differently colored and differently barely visible in different e-readers. I need to get to the bottom of this, perhaps it is possible to do something with .css files.
All the other text in the dictionary is perfectly visible, except in settings.

What does this have to do with whether the SD card is formatted internally or portable?
Or was the formatting not the problem at all?

No, how GoldenDict looks on e-ink has nothing to do with portable or internal.
I was not sure if GoldenDict would work at all. And now it seems there will not be necessary two dictionary locations.
But GoldenDict, especially its keyword line (and switching language pairs) and its settings look differently on different e-ink readers. That's why I wrote that it perhaps has a limited support for e-ink instead of no support at all. Possibly, some e-readers are recognized as e-ink, others are not. That is the case with Cool Reader 3 in any case. Not so obvious about GoldenDict.
