The autobiography of Valentine Williams: Reuters correspondent, newspaper foreign correspondent, war correspondent, soldier and novelist.

In the course of his remarkable career he met and interviewed heads of government, generals and diplomats, witnessed a guillotining in Paris, got blown up on the Somme, married an Australian actress and singer, reported on the opening of Tut-ankh-Amun's tomb, and on the interminable peace conference after WW1.

As an author, he wrote the Dr Grundt series of spy/adventure novels, Mr Treadgold detective stories, and many others.
