Arnold Bennet achieved immortality with his "Potteries" novels, and rarely ventured into short fiction.

This rare collection, published in 1900, is sub-titled "being the adventures of a millionaire in search of joy (a fantasia) and other stories". Most of the stories are essentially crime short stories, another departure for Bennett.
