Two series with the same name
#1  cgsmom 06-13-2019, 09:19 AM
I picked up a free book today from Kobo. It is the first book in a series. When I went to enter it into Calibre, I noticed that I already have a series with the same name. Actually, I am surprised that this is the first time this has happened to me. I guess I could number the series like "Second Chances-1" and "Second Chances-2". Any better ideas would be appreciated.

Doh! I guess that would make it easier to know which is which. Thanks.

I did it the flip ;bulb; so devices sorting by series still get it correct
Series (authors initials)
Code
Magic (AN)

I just let it be. I actually have several series with the same name. As I mostly sort and search by author, the duplicate series don't bother me.

The reason I do it, Collections on both my Kindle and Kobo use just Series.

I avoid ({authors}) {series} because many allow others to play (or they are the successor author) in them and I want to keep the set together.

This is another instance in which I've found the best resolution is a combination of tears and whisky … in no particular order. Application of blunt force to the forehead can also help.

Help in the sense that you'll stop caring... about anything?
