and i guess the claim of not being able to put a front light on a 10" or larger e-ink device is now debunked.

I was under the impression that a 10.3" (which is 10" or larger) frontlit eInk display had been done before.

Here's what you missed:

1) Boox Note 1
2) Boox Note 2
3) Boox Note Air
4) Pocketbook Inkpad X

All of the above are 10.3-inch readers.

obviously when he says over 10", he is referring to anything over the 10.3" screens, 13.3" from the max versions specifically.

Except he said 10 inch or larger.

And I'm sure it could be done technically. Done well cheaply enough, perhaps not so much.

But that sort of thing didn't stop Sony from making the PRS-700.

I didn't think it was obvious, hence the reason for my post.

I don't know about the Note 1.

The other three on my list have front lights.

i guess i did miss quite a few 10" and larger devices with a front light. i posted this because some time ago, the largest device with a front light was 8". at that time, even though there were plenty of 10" devices out in circulation, none had a front light. the lumi was the first i had heard of with a front light. i never checked out any of the 4 posted by Dr. Drib. looking at those 4, the original Boox Note did not have a front light. but there was another (Boox Note Pro) that does have a front light.

I'll be waiting for My Deep Guide to review the two new Boox devices before coming to any hard judgement on their merits.
What/who is My Deep Guide? Where does one find their reviews?
