A minor effort by Maurice Maindron (1857-1911) where a couple of adventurers of Italian extraction scheme to rob the inheritance of the young heiress to a considerable fortune. I was puzzled by the title and after some research in very old dictionaries I discovered that Dariolette is not the name of a person as I had first thought but rather an obsolete word that designates some kind of lady-in-waiting especially as seen from the angle of one who either procures or acts as a go-between between her employer and her lover(s).
