Attached are the screenshots from my Kobo Sage
From looking at the last two sets of screen grabs, it appears that Kobo still dithers better then Amazon.
Thank you (modified and Uncle Robin) for the recent screen shots! Still useful!

Are you commenting on the color-to-grayscale mapping or on the actual dithering between the two gray levels within each square? It looks like the kindle is just using a different algorithm (Floyd-Steinberg) than the Kobo (uniform)--see attached. I think whether one is better than the other is somewhat subjective.
But looking as the recent Kindle and Kobo screen grabs, the Kobo one has better color dithering. So you get a truer (to the original) image.
World greatest mystery is how is it that this person (the curmudgeon) still hasn't been banned from this forum after all those years of offtopic comments across the whole MobileRead forum and for constant "Kobo is better then Kindle" blah blah blah... PW3 iz EOL-ed blah blah blah...
Here are my screenshots for Kindle 10th gen
Kobo still dithers better than Kindle. Post #51 vs. Post #56 prove this.

And you still refuse to use words correctly and also keep posting the same off topic opinion as fact over and over in the same thread.
