(18161866) war ein deutscher Emigrant, Autor, Karthograph und Ingenieur. Er ließ sich im Oktober 1835 als Soldat für den
von Mexiko als Soldat werben. Von seinen Erlebnissen während dieses Feldzugs berichtet sein Buch. So war er an der Besetzung des
beteiligt. Er überlebte das
bei dem über 400 Kriegsgefangene der texanischen Armee von den Mexikanern hingerichtet wurden.
