Not seeing annotations made on Onyx Note 2 on several Linux pdf viewers

Hi everyone,

So I just got my Note 2 and I'm very excited about it! I want to use it mainly for reading academic papers, and managed to set up syncing between the Note 2 and my computer using Dropsync. I tried adding annotations to a pdf using the pen, and it does sync back to my computer. However it seems that while the annotations are there, I cannot see them with any of the pdf viewers that I tried (okular, evince, ubuntu reader, qpdfview). I can only see the annotations if I send the file to a Windows PC or in gmail.

Does anyone has a solution for me?

You could try to run adobe reader or something with Wine. Idk if that can be done.

Hello julian, quite the experience I got with the Boox Note Pro (1):

I solved it for myself with the Xodo Reader for android / but be aware that not every version may work! (also I work now with a cover for my wrist rest ...multitouch not that great while writting with the pen in that app)

Try using the pencil to make annotations, rather than the brush. That worked for me.

It sounds like the same issue we discussed in this thread:

As suggested there, the solution is either use MuPDF as your viewer, or manually update poppler to the latest version which has better support for the quirks of Onyx devices.
