The Dentist skit is one of my favorites! I miss funny shows like that.

Well, that explains why my wife was laughing and crying so hard last night. She said it was the dentist skit but didn't say why it came up.

Rest in peace funny man, we'll miss you.

Herman Wouk has also left us. 103 is a very ripe age to reach.

Light a virtual candle for Toni Morrison who has left us at age 88.

Toni Morrison, the Nobel laureate in literature whose best-selling work explored black identity in America and in particular the often crushing experience of black women through luminous, incantatory prose resembling that of no other writer in English, died on Monday in the Bronx. She was 88.

l'd like to light a virtual candle for long-term MR member MickeyC, who died last month. He was the stalwart of the Introduce Yourself forum; he welcomed every new member who posted there. Such was his dedication that he had logged in and posted welcomes the day he died. His presence will be missed.

I'm very sorry to hear that. He was, of course, the first MR member to welcome me aboard.

I'd like to light a (belated) virtual candle for Carol Jacob wife of author Piers Anthony (his full name is Piers Anthony Dillingham Jacob). She passed away on Oct. 3rd I understand. I just read about it this evening.

Extremely sorry to hear. I've visited the Introduction forum intermittently and always appreciated his enthusiastic approach to welcome the new members. He will be missed a lot. RIP MickeyC...
