and
b) is it A Good Thing to install somewhere ?

1) You must have Firefox (the browser) installed. It does not need to be your default browser, just in case you love IE

2) Once Firefox is running, you use the tool Find add-ins to get EpubReader

From then on, Firefox will advse you of updates (to itself and registered installed plugins)

Yes, it's excellent. Being able to open an ePub book in a browser is very convenient IMHO.

It will also work with the SeaMonkey browser. This is, like firefox, a mozilla based browser but it looks like netscape with all the old netscape integration. You can use ePubreader as a reader on any device that will run the browser and it is a great reader to use to read books on you computer. it can also download books from some sites.
