What to put in the Author field of magazine-like ebooks wriiten by many contributors

A question about management of ebooks in your library:

I have ePUBs from magazines and newspapers and they contain articles by many different authors. What is the best to put in the Authors metadata field of those publications?

I see different options:
  1. Blank or - if software doesn't allow this - the word "Unknown" (This is the technical catch-all approach.)
  2. The content of the Publisher field (This works well for newspapers.)
  3. The word "Multiple" (Seems to make sense for magazines.)

What do people do? Are there other options? Does exist a standard way to do this? What works well for you?

In calibre I either put a semi-colon delimited list of the authors, or the name of the editor.

I use xyz (ed) Calibre ignores the (ed) when sorting

I also have a Custom Column that I keep Author lists and Pseudonyms, for cases of more than 3 Authors (I used a filename based device and wanted the {author_sort} value short )
So that is where I would list the volumes contributors

Thanks for all the replies. I like in particular the xyz (ed) approach!
