How to read xml ebooks?

Perseus project for example allows downloading such books, but the XML markup is visible and makes the text barely readable. Example here:
http://www.perseus.tufts.edu/hopper/text?doc=Perseus%3Atext%3A1999.03.0080%3Asection%3 D2
Now how to ignore or strip the text of it, and then possibly convert that xml to epub or mobi?

If you want a quick way to convert various types of XML files to epub (or a wide range of other formats) visit http://www.tei-c.org/oxgarage/#. I converted E A Abbott's Shakespearean Grammar (downloaded from http://www.perseus.tufts.edu/) with a couple of clicks after selecting "TEI P4 XML Document" as the input format. Cheers Neil.
